Minerals North 2023 was hosted by the City of Quesnel

After a 3 year hiatus caused by Covid-19, the hosting of this annual northern BC Mining conference returned in May 2023. This was the first time Minerals North was held in Quesnel. The event featured pre-conference tours, an 80 booth trade show, a 1.5 day conference and social activities.

Pre-conference

Pre-conference activities included site visits to Taseko’s Gibraltar Mine, to Osisko Development’s Barkerville Project and the historic Barkerville townsite, plus golf at the Richbar Golf Course.

Keynote Speaker for Minerals North 2023 was Dr. Lisa Bélanger, Behavioural Change Expert and Researcher

Dr. Bélanger holds a PhD in Behavioural Medicine, and is a Certified Exercise Physiologist, a researcher at the University of Calgary, and an instructor at the University of Alberta Executive Education. She is also the CEO and founder of ConsciousWorks, a consulting firm that shows how insights from behavioural science can strategically improve habits of both corporate leaders and their employees. She shows leaders and teams how insights from psychology, neuroscience, and behavioural science can be applied in the workplace to optimize performance, productivity, and innovation.

Bélanger is the author of two books — Inspire Me Well: Finding Motivation to Take Control of Your Health, and her upcoming release, A Cup of Mindfulness for the Busy and Restless. She is also the founder of Knight’s Cabin, a national charity offering wellness programming to cancer survivors.
